A shared culture of ministering together as a church community for the local community enables ministry to thrive:
In Strathaven, Janette is involved in leading a relatively new Community Church. She describes how this fellowship developed largely through identifying and then meeting needs in the community, and how high-quality culturally relevant initiatives such as a commercial cafe and key events for children, young people and families, have enabled deeper connections with the church family and their local community. OCC utilise contemporary movies as part of their ministry with children and young people to enable spiritual engagement and Christian learning. Janette explains that church is seen as relevant, engaging and welcoming by increasing numbers of people.
